The Armed Forces Covenant - PROUDLY SUPPORTING THOSE WHO SERVE

The aim of the Armed Forces Covenant is to encourage support for the Armed Forces Community residing in Fradley and Streethay and to recognise and remember the sacrifice made by members of the Armed Forces Community, which includes serving and former Armed Forces personnel, veterans, their families and widowers. 

Whether you are currently in the Armed Forces or you are leaving the Armed Forces, you and your family often need advice on issues including health, education, housing, training and jobs. Fradley and Streethay Parish Council is here to support you and your family with these issues and we are here to help point you in the right direction.

A new £6m fund launched on 12th May to support armed forces charities/CICs supporting Armed Forces communities affected by Covid-19.

 

Grants up to £60k are available to apply for with larger grants up to £125k available for exceptional circumstances.  The funding is available to apply for now.  It will be distributed in the form of grants administered by the Armed Forces Covenant Trust and will be given to charities that work in the following key nine areas affected by the impact of the coronavirus:

 

·         support to the elderly (including Care Homes)

·         mental and physical health

·         welfare

·         domestic violence

·         housing

·         criminal justice system

·         service families (including childcare)

·         bereavement

·         employment
