HAVE YOUR SAY on the Lichfield District Council - Local Plan 2018-2040 Consultation

Lichfield District Council has begun a consultation on the latest version  of the Lichfield District Local Plan 2040, commencing on Monday 5th July 2021. The consultation will take place for eight weeks and closes at 17:00 on Monday 30th August 2021.

The Lichfield District Local Plan 2040 Regulation 19 consultation will ask the public and stakeholders to give their views on the soundness and legal compliance of the pre-submission (publication) version of the district’s local plan.

All comments received will be sent to the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, who will appoint an independent Planning Inspector to examine the submission version of the plan along with all the representations.

This latest plan is based on updated evidence and the feedback from previous consultations. It will be used by the council to guide how the district is developed up to 2040, including making sure there are homes, jobs, facilities and services to meet the needs of the population in a sustainable way, while protecting and enhancing the area’s environment and heritage

The document and all the information regarding the consultation will be available on the District Council’s website from 9am on Monday morning (5th July) via the link below:

Residents, stakeholders and all interested parties are encouraged to make their representations online through our dedicated consultation portal (https://lichfielddc-consult.objective.co.uk/portal). We would ask all Parishes to encourage the use of the consultation portal when making representations as this will enable the District Council to process representations in a more timely and cost effective manner.

Throughout the consultation members of the Spatial Policy & Delivery team will be available via phone and email to provide assistance.

The council will hold covid secure drop-in sessions in Lichfield and Burntwood, where planning officers will be available to talk through the plans. The council is also looking to hold further drop-in sessions, subject to Covid guidance, at venues in Fradley, Fazeley and Whittington as the local plan proposes development in these locations. More information on when and how these drop-in sessions will be held in a Covid-secure way will be promoted nearer the time and will be available online at www.lichfielddc.gov.uk/localplan2040 or by calling 01543 308192.

Lichfield District Council have put together a video to guide residents through the process of commenting on the Local Plan 2040, as part of the regulation 19 consultation.

It explains how this part of the process is all about confirming the plan is sound and legally compliant.

Council planners are hosting a series of drop-in sessions so everyone has the chance to see and discuss the plans. The events will take place at the following times and locations, subject to Covid-19 guidance:

·         Burntwood Library on Tuesday 20 July from 2pm to 5pm

·         Fazeley Town Hall on Tuesday 27 July from 2pm to 5pm

·         Fradley Village Hall on Friday 30 July from 2pm to 5pm

·         Whittington Village Hall on Saturday 7 August from 10am to 1pm

·         District Council House, Frog Lane, Lichfield on Wednesday 11 August from 2pm to 5pm

These drop-in events offer a good opportunity to ask questions and to find out how to give your views.

The Boundary Commission for England is the independent organisation responsible for reviewing Parliamentary constituency boundaries in England.

From the second consultation period onwards, you will also be able to:
